Production evaluation for middle of trailor
The purpose of an evaluation is for you to revisit the pre-production, Production and post-production stages of the assignment. Through doing this you will be able to decide if you have achieved the outcome that you had originally planned.The important aspect of this evaluation is not that everything went to plan and you are happy with that outcome, although this is still important. What we also need to see is that you have carefully considered each aspect of the assignment and taken from that assignment any lessons or do’s and don’ts that can be transferred on to the next assignment. It is only through such a process that you can really gauge how far and how much you have taken from the course.1. What do you feel is the most important area of learning that you have taken from this assignment? Look at all the production stages and ask your self which areas of this assignment have given you a new way of thinking or approaching you future projects. (50 Words)
This assignment has been a great learning curve from this project I have learnt that team work is most important .In this project we did not follow the story board completely and for this reason we had a difficult time editing as we could not make sense of the shots .So the trailer was hard to put in order. In future I will concentrate more on pre production as this will make it easier for me in production and post production.
2. From your finished project what parts are you most happy with? With the same level of consideration what areas do you feel you need to improve on? (50 Words)
In this project I am most happy with the storyline I also like the scenes they have a horror effect and feel. But the trailer did not go the way I planned I think this is because of the camera quality and angles it was shot at. The parts I am most happy with from my part of the trail is the shot of Joe when he is trying to open the door this is because the camera angle and because the lighting is dark I also think Joe acted very well. I also like the shot of the blood on the stairs it has a good effect I think the only thing I would change is t he lighting I would make it darker.
3. How well do you think you and your group worked in achieving all the goals that were set by the assignment brief? (50 Words)
I believe we have achieved the goals that were on the assignment brief .As a group I think we worked very well due to some group absences we were running behind but we finished on time .I think the only thing we could have improved on as a group is the paper work .
4. What would you change or do differently in the next production? (50 Words)
I would use different shots lots of different camera angles .I would also change the lighting to make it darker. In the scene were Amanda is in the toilet I would use close ups and have more sound effects to build tension .I had expected this shot to be one of the best but due to the space being very tiny it made it harder to get the correct shot.
I would also make the shots shorter to add effect and build tension.
5. How does your trailer fit with the look and style of a real example that you looked at in research, think about how your trailer looks and how it is edited (50 Words)
The trail is at a ok standard but not great it does not look professional and the shots are much to long .
The quality of film is also not very good. The shots are not very effective too.
Comparing My trailer Hide And Seek to The Scream trailer there is a very large difference in the quality of film the story is more understandable and is very effective.
Before filming i filled out a risk assesment form and done the storyboard for the script that we wrote.I was acting in the production and charlotte filmed it.Today we filmed the scripted storyboard it was quite confusing to do as the script had errors and did not make much sense.In the script the charecter is hit and falls to the ground but as we are not allowed to film scense which are hazzardus we slightly changed the ending instead of the character being hit we filmed the character being cought with the file instead. I think the filming was only difficult because the script was not detailed enough and was confusing.This workshop task has taught me how important pre -production is .We have also completed the login sheet.
Today we were given a scene from a film as a puzzle.We had to put it in to order this was much harder then i had expected .First i named each shot and labeled the location.Then i watched each clip and started placing the shots in the order i thought worked best.
Today i made a storyboard for a scene in the film There would be blood.From todays lesson i have learned that a storyboard does not have to be so detailed as it is to time consuming and ristricts the director from being creative .

Evaluation
Overall i am pleased with the film i think the idea was very good but could have been filmed better.The areas i would improve in would be the filming as i was directing next time i will make sure the camera is steady to avoid shake shots.I would also have more close up shots to add drama and to show the characters expressions.
To improve the production i would retake the shots of the vase falling and make sure i do the white balance.Also i think the scene at the start of Rachel is too long so i would retake that shot and use more close up shots to make it more interesting and have more dialogue .The reason for so much continuity is that we filmed the shots on different days so their was obvious areas.

Evaluating my contribution to, Production
I was director for the production. I was also in three photographs at the beging of the film which are used to tell the story befor the scene in the hospital .I also edited half the movie using the mac computers cuting out shots we dident need .I n the production the props i bought was fake blood which i made using red food colour mixed with a little green to make the blood look darker.

I done the treatment and the storyboard.When i was brainstorming for a idea of the best storys i felt a woman that was being chased by a ghost was the best.I think this story was a good one as i thought it was very different and creative.
